God is good all the time! My hope was go on this mission to India this winter, but perhaps God has a different idea. The cost for me to go on this mission has not yet been reached but this isn't going to prevent me from making it over there. My heart goes out to the church in India and where God leads me, I will follow. He has prepared the way for me and even though I may have plans, His plans are way better.
I want to share with you an email from one of the India 2008 team members as they are still going this December - January to share the word of God.
Hello team members! [and readers]
I hope all of you are well and are encountering truth and encouragement from God. He loves you, ya know. :)
Lately, I have been so busy that it has been hard to focus on India. My head is still turning from last week. So, I decided to begin fasting once a week, so that I could spend that day turning from things that usually grab my attention, like food (man I love food!), and spend it in prayer for India. Lately, I have been understanding more of how important is to pray and to fast. Last Sunday, Pastor Steve Berger, at Grace Chapel in Leiper's Fork, TN, said that the common denominator for all great movements of God in the history of the church is prayer and fasting. He emphasized the importance of knowing the power we have in Jesus name and the importance of understanding there is spiritual warfare and that our prayers are weapons against the enemy. Ephesians 6:12 it says, "for we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of darkness of the age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places." In 2 Corinthians 10:3-4 it says," for though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh . For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds..."
Also, it is important to understand from what power we pray from.
"I pray also that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints, and his incomparably great power for us who believe. That power is like the working of his mighty strength, which he exerted in Christ when he from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly realms, far above all rule and authority, power and dominion, and every title that can be given, not only in the present age but also in the one to come."
We have been placed at the right hand of God with Jesus, over all dominion and power, even over death! I want to pray in that knowledge, truth, and power for INDIA. I know that Satan claims India as his own, but the rightful King of India is Jesus. It is not Satan's country, but God's.
I write this because I want to challenge you to fast with me once a week until our trip to India. I decided to fast on Sundays because it is one of the only days I can afford to fast. I need all the energy I can get during the week, and I also have more time to pray on Sundays. I would encourage you to pick a day that would be most beneficial for you, considering how much time you have available to pray and the energy you will be using that day. The Lord honors us when we spend time to focus on him and search for his will. And, I believe this will help spiritually prepare us as a team to go into India, because the fact is that Satan hates us and hates what we do. And because of his fear of the power we hold he will try anything to make us forget the power of Jesus. And, he will also want us to forget that he even exists and that there are evil powers to pray against. I would encourage you to read Daniel Ch. 10 and 2 Kings Ch.6, especially verses 15-17. It is really cool stuff. They show God hearing and answering prayers, and they also give insight to the spiritual battle. Please tell me what you think and what you have decided.
Peace and love,Kyle
I am so blessed if you would support me. Please pray always.
